| Dr. Joyce was raised in Colorado. She
received her Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology from Mount Holyoke
College in Massachusetts in 1984, where she graduated second in
her class. From there she went to Washington, D.C. for a year
where she worked at the Genetics and IVF Institute, a clinic specializing
in prenatal diagnosis and in vitro fertilization. It was there
that she developed her interest in infertility and her skill in
ultrasound. She went on to medical school not far away in Baltimore,
Maryland at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Upon graduation
from Johns Hopkins in 1989, she received an award for having the
most promise in gynecologic surgery.
Dr. Joyce then headed west and did her internship and residency
in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Kaiser Permanente Medical
Center in San Francisco. While there she received a resident award
for surgical skill in laparoscopy. She finished in 1993, and then
spent 5 years as a staff physician in Kaiser Redwood City's Ob/Gyn
Department. She was transferred to the Santa Teresa facility in
San Jose, where she practiced for a year before joining Women's
Care Medical Group in May of 1999. She received her board certification
in Ob/Gyn in 1995 and is a fellow of the American College of Ob/Gyn.
She is also a member of the American Association of Gynecologic
Laparoscopists.
Dr. Joyce is married and has two children. In her spare time,
she enjoys golf, skiing, photography, and spending time with her
family. |
